Capital health regional is a nightmare to go to for crisis. If you have a mental illness and you need some stabilization, they are awful. The crisis unit is beyond terrible; itβs horrifying. In June 2021, I believe when Covid was still active, I had to go to the ER crisis unit and I was there for three days because a lot of people were having problems with their mental health during Covid and that were scarce in behavioral hospitals. I told them at the hospital in the crisis unit that I will go impatient anywhere. To me thatβs a voluntary statement and it means that I want To be hospitalized. So, how did I end up committed? I was in suicidal, I wasnβt homicidal and Iβve never been, I was in psychotic, I wasnβt seeing things or hearing things at all. I was euphoric because unbeknownst to me I handled some mushrooms that were psychedelics. I only Became euphoric and that didnβt last very long. I was almost given an injection of Haldol because the Night Shift nurse didnβt like me asking her for Tylenol or Motrin for back pain. She wanted her night to be comfy and she said that she was gonna get me a shot of Haldol. And I said give me a pill I donβt need much and you donβt need to give

Iβm at the ER with my husband, I ask the security where to check in at. The gentleman directs me to check in, only for her to be on her cellphone completely ignoring me standing in front of her. I actually had to say excuse me when there was no one but myself and her cellphone. I work in the medical field myself and this here is an example of why people are angry by the time there are actually triaged by the team. The frustration and lack of professionalism they have to deal with upon arrival is the main issue.

Avoid this ER if you can. They let mentally ill people into the ER, people who are probably just trying to get a bed to get away from the hot weather outside. The entire time I was there I had to literally listen to crazy talk, verbally aggressive patients, and just general chaos. The nurses don't handle those people in a professional way, because most of the time they were mimicking and making fun of the crazy talkers. I get that the location is rough, but they need better training on how to handle it all. If you want a professional atmosphere in an ER, go to Hopewell.

Worst medical place I have been too. I would have received cleaner care and treatment in a hut, with a dirt floor in a third world country. The whole place smelled of urine, people were lined up against the wall in dirty chairs that no one sanitized between each person, nurses just walking around talking about their personal lives (I counted at least 10l and to top it all off the nurse who tried to give me a shot left at least 2ml of air in the needle as she was coming at me! I could not speed walk as fast as my tweaked back would let me go, but I got out of there asap. They never offered masks for the hacking people all around me. This place should be shut down and everyones medical certificate and or degree should be rechecked for authenticity . The only good thing I have to say for this hell hole is that the x ray tech was very sweet and sympathetic

Took my fiancee to the ER and it was the worst experience ever. We ended up leaving AMA to get her to a better hospital otherwise they were going to kill her with negligence. The place was way over capacity but for some reason they were still taking patients. The food was disgusting and even of you went to the cafeteria the only thing that was available was some nasty chicken fingers in some dungeon they called the cafeteria.
